Background:

It was the morning of Feb15 2022, that I got a message from Mr Nanak Singh ji from Village Koi, who is our Project Director for the Housing Mission on Jagriti foundation Whataspp group about the emergency medical needs of Mr Balwinder Singh from Dhar area who earlier met with a serious accident at Chandigarh where he used to work as Petrol Pamp attendant. I immediately swang into action and started verification and other follow up. I located the patient at PGI Chandigarh where he was admitted on Feb 12, 2022, for emergency treatment. I visited the PGI to follow up on the patient’s treatment and met the patient in emergency trauma block him and his family on Feb 15 and made all efforts that could make to help the family. The patient’s admission and treatment at PGI was the first blessing that God showered on the family as the patient was in safe hands.
It was another blessing of God that the patient was operated upon on 15 th Feb evening, the day I visited him in PGI and his operation was successful. Very recently he has been discharged after about been there in PGI for a month and we hope and wish that he will be normal in another couple of months.

The patient has now shifted to the village for his recovery and post-operative medical care after discharge from the PGI Chandigarh.
About Family

I met the father and relatives of the family at PGI. I could judge that family is extremely poor but I observed that the family has strong bonds with scores of relatives at PGI Chandigarh to help the patient despite that they had very meagre resources to spare.
Jagriti Gesture

We find that such a family qualify for our immediate medical aid to be compensated for the money spent on his treatment. Accordingly, Jagriti has decided to offer him monetary help of Rs 25000 from the Trust reserve funds. Along with Sh Yash Pual Sharma, our learned Trustee has pledged another Rs 5000 to him in addition to our funds making the total grant- in- aids to him Rs 30000. Jagriti family members led by our learned trustee Yash Paul Sharma and Dr BS Manhas led a delegation to the patient home and delivered the cheque of Rs 30000 to the family on March 28 th, 2022 to ease the financial burden that the family has to bear due to the treatment of the patient.
Our Commitment

healthcare project number 3

Jagriti is committed to helping people from the Dhar area and any other adjoining area where we could verify the facts in case of a medical emergency as possible from its resources or after making a donation call to learned members. In this case, we find our support of Rs 30000 is enough to support the family and we hope the patient would be normal soon to live an independent life with a supportive livelihood.
