HORTICULTURE MISSION FOR THE YEAR 2021-22 & ONWARDS

With an endeavour to diversify agriculture out of Traditional wheat-Rice cultivation and to bring prosperity to the agriculturists of the Dhar Block, our Board of Trustees have taken a lead in its AGM held on March 4, 2021, at Village Hara, by adopting Horticulture Mission for the current year 2021-22 and thereafter on regular basis. The salient feature of the scheme planned are as follows:

• Under the Progressive Horticulture Mission, Jagriti will select actual tillers Farmers of the Dhar Block to shift from Wheat to horticulture plantation.

• The scheme would be launched in association and support of the horticulture department Punjab to promote local fruit cultivation.

• Under the scheme horticulture will be promoted on suitable land in association with farmer under which jagriti would provide the Plants form the govt nurseries free of cost to motivate the agriculturist.

• This year jagriti has selected Lime or Neembu cultivation at the cost of Rs 45 per plant form Punjab Govt.

• To promote and motivate Farmers any subsidy that is payable by the State Govt will be only available to the farmers and Jagriti will not claim any consideration.

• The plantation upkeep and taking care would be the responsibility of the farmer for which Jagriti would not incur any expenditure.

• Jagriti would coordinate with the Horticulture Department for technical and market support as available.

• The extend of the scheme would be as per the budget passed in the Board Meetings with some relaxation as per practical needs.

Strategy and implementation for the year 2021-22
With efforts put in for the last one year, Jagriti has been able to launch the
Horticulture Mission with the participation of the following farmers of the
Dhar Block as listed below:
Jagriti will provide 200 plants per acre @ Rs 45 per sapling

Village Hara 1.Kewal Singh s/o Parbhat Singh- One Acre Lime Plantation, Cost 9000.

2.Ranjeet Singh s/o Inder Singh- One Acre Lime Plantation, Cost Rs 9000.

3.Rachpal Singhs/o Kishan Singh one Acre Lome Plantation, Cost Rs 9000.

4.Hari Krishan One Acre of Lime Plantation cost Rs 9000.

5.Subash Singh s/o Babu Ram, One Acre of Lime Plantation Rs.9000. Village Darban

1.Sawarn Dutt alias Guddu s/o Rawan 5 kanals 125 plants Cost Rs 5625.

1.Ramesh Singh Ex Subedar One Acre of Lime Cultivation Cost Rs 9000.
Total cost Rs 59625.
We trust and hope the cooperation of the friends and Trustees we will start the scheme as PILOT PROJECT this year 2021-22 form June 2021 onwards and would like to designate a Supporting Activist as Project Director to coordinate our efforts.
The selection of the competent activist would be declared as per the availability of a suitable person with the advice of the Jagriti family.
