INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT JAGRITI HOME -2

Village: NIARI, TEHSIL DHAR KALAN, Pathankot
SUBJECT: 1. JAGRITI HOMES FOR THE FAMILY OF DESTITUTE AND WIDOW Mrs SUMAN AT VILLAGE DARBAN DURING THE YEAR 2021-22.

Background:
Continuing our spree to serve people especially from our model village Darban, we are entering into an initiative to build a home for the poor, needy or widow of the area. We started our Housing Mission with our first venture last year when we constructed a home for a poor family of village Sarti and named the project Jagriti Home No 1. This year we selected the home for a widow and needy family of village darban to be called Jagriti Home No 2.

We would endeavour to give at least one home each year to a destitute family.

About the Jagriti Home No 2 and selection of Beneficiary:
It was in March 2021, I got a proposal to provide a home to needy and poor families of Darban courtesy of Harkikat Singh Sarpanch of the village Darban. I visited the site which was revisited by our worthy Trustees namely Yash Paul Sharma and Trustee Shammi Choudhary. Upon verification from our sources also found the beneficiary eligible for our grant as the family is not only poor needy but the head of the family is a widow who has the responsibility to shoulder three grown-up children with no income to support. Accordingly, Suman was granted Jagriti Home No 2which is to be built upon her land on the BRO Defence Road. We hope home can be a precursor to self-employment provided the family comes forward to start a self-employment business for which Jagriti can help them.

About the family:
The family is consisting of two girls and a boy with their mother as head of the family. The father of the children was a driver who died in an accident and the family has now no regular source of income as the lady of the house is a housewife. We feel it would be a great service to establish the family in housing as possible for Jagriti.

Design of the Jagriti Home No 2:
Our young volunteer Arch Nipun Goswami is the Project Director( Technical) with myself as Administrator( General) to the project. The drawings and design have been prepared after no field visits and we plan to make a single room dwelling
( Cottage) with attached kitchen, washroom and comfortable verandah. We propose to adopt this design in our future projects also.

Budget of the Project:
According to the tentative budget allocation, the cost of this project which would be about 245 sq ft would be 2.30 lakhs which we need to arrange before we start its construction or ley foundation stone.
To meet its expenditure we need the help and support of the community and friends.
As a humble volunteer of this mission, I would kick start the collection with a pledge of Rs 20000 to this project out of my modest pension that I receive from Government.

Please consider our request to help us to build this one-room dwelling unit for this poor and needy family. It is our humble request with folded hands.
I am sure my friends and philanthropist will help redeem it soon as we can do so in respect of other projects of the year. Our target would be to complete all the projects well in this financial year up to February 2022.
