It was the morning of May 13, 2021, that I got a message from Arun Kumar of village Dunera, Dhar Kalan on Jagriti foundation Whataspp group about the emergency relief to Miss Monalika Sharma of Darban village with a brief about her Brain tumour ailment. Jagriti is thankful to Arun for bringing the plight of Monalika into knowledge. I immediately swang into action and started verification and other follow up. With the input received with the help of Former Sarpanch Raj Sharma of Sarti ( Raj even helped us to locate Chaggar Singh for which we donated Rs. 1.5 lakh for his treatment), I conducted the follow-up and present the report as under which calls for her financial help as she is in a critical phase of life.

About Patient Monalika
It was January 2020 when I along with my team visited Govt Senior secondary School Dunera to interview the candidate shortlisted for the fellowship that Jagriti wanted to give to deserving students of the area. Monalika was that time 12-grade student of the school and had secured above 90% marks in her 10th class. We immediately selected her for fellowship which was personally awarded to her at Niari College Function held on January 2021 with the financial help of Rs 5000. She passed 12 grade again with over 85% marks and now was pursuing a diploma course in IT at IIT Pathankot.
She was very fine till around March 2021 and happily studying her course but in April 2021 a brain Tumor was detected which has crippled her life. Monalika is the shining star of her family and area and an intelligent child who despite her being
financially handicapped is a promising child
About Family
As bad luck would have been the father of the girl Mr Ravinder Sharma who was a resident of Village Darban (which happen to be our priority village) expired about three years ago and the patient is the only child of her mother Mrs Indu Bala. The financial position is very poor as the family is dependant upon her relatives or small property they may have.
Latest Position
Mother and daughter have moved to Bisholi (J&K)for the last about three months with her relative who is supporting them. The initial examination was got done at Govt medical college Jammu and later at Guru Nanak Super speciality hospital Taran Tarn where the doctor has recommended Brain surgery for which they have asked them to arrange Rs 3 lakh for her operation.
Jagriti Strategy
It is here that we have entered and we are trying to contact expert doctors at Pathankot and would like that her treatment may be handed over to be the best doctors available. The family has arranged about 1.25 TO 1.50 lakh for her operation and Jagriti has assured the family that it will arrange the balance amount required for the treatment which may be safely around Rs Two lakhs.
We have requested Sharma ji and Shammi Choudhary ji to arrange the best doctors at Pathankot and jagriti would do as possible as earliest.
Donation Call
Jagriti is committed to helping critically ill patient of the area and it is our duty to an enshrined by God to help the hapless patients in need. Monalika is the only hope of her mother and let us join together to help her. We plan to target Rs 2 lakh as a target for her immediate needs for which we request all respected members to come forward and donate for the treatment of this small.
The girl is the only hope for her mother.
