A Step Towards a Greener and More Sustainable Future

Jagriti Foundation Charitable Trust successfully organised its 8th Annual Green Mission โ€“ BUTIYA DA LANGAR on 17 August 2026 at the PWD Rest House, Nainikhad, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.

The initiative was undertaken with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, encouraging fruit cultivation, strengthening community participation, and creating a greener and healthier environment for present and future generations.

Under this year’s Green Mission, 300 high-yielding Lemon and Malta plants were distributed among 150 residents of Nainikhad Panchayat. The programme was coordinated with the support of the Panchayat and local community.

๐ŸŒฟ 1. About the Green Mission โ€“ BUTIYA DA LANGAR

The Green Mission โ€“ BUTIYA DA LANGAR is one of the important environmental initiatives undertaken by Jagriti Foundation Charitable Trust.

The initiative aims to encourage people to actively participate in plantation and fruit cultivation while creating long-term environmental and economic benefits for local communities.

Rather than limiting plantation activities to a single event, the mission promotes the idea of planting, nurturing and protecting plants for the future.

Through this initiative, the Foundation seeks to develop a culture where every household and community member understands the importance of greenery and contributes towards environmental protection.

๐Ÿ‹ 2. Distribution of 300 Lemon and Malta Plants

As part of the 8th Annual Green Mission, a total of 300 high-yielding Lemon and Malta plants were distributed.

These plants were provided to 150 residents of Nainikhad Panchayat, giving each participating resident an opportunity to contribute directly towards the Green Mission.

๐ŸŒณ 3. Promoting Environmental Conservation

One of the major objectives of the Green Mission is to increase greenery and create greater awareness about environmental conservation.

Plants and trees play an important role in maintaining ecological balance. They contribute towards cleaner air, support biodiversity, help maintain soil quality and enhance the overall natural environment.

By encouraging plantation at the community level, Jagriti Foundation Charitable Trust is working towards creating a more environmentally conscious society.

The distribution of fruit plants also encourages residents to take responsibility for nurturing and protecting greenery around their homes and community spaces.

๐ŸŒฑ 4. Encouraging Fruit Cultivation

The Green Mission goes beyond conventional plantation drives by promoting fruit cultivation.

Lemon and Malta plants were selected for distribution with the vision of encouraging local fruit production and providing long-term benefits to participating families.

Fruit cultivation can contribute to:

  • Better utilisation of available land
  • Household-level fruit production
  • Additional agricultural opportunities
  • Greater awareness of horticulture
  • A greener local environment
  • Long-term benefits for families and future generations

Thus, the initiative creates a meaningful connection between environmental protection and community development.

๐Ÿค 5. Active Participation of the Local Community

The success of the programme was made possible through the wholehearted participation and cooperation of the local community.

The Administration, Panchayat members and local villagers extended their support to the initiative and contributed towards conducting the programme in a disciplined and organised manner.

Community participation is an essential component of environmental initiatives because sustainable development becomes more effective when local residents actively participate in and take ownership of the process.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ 6. Support from the Administration

The programme received valuable support from the local administration.

The presence and participation of Sh. Munish Soni, HAS, SDM Bhattiyat, Chamba, as the Chief Guest, added significance to the occasion.

The support of the administration reflects the importance of collaborative efforts between social organisations, government authorities, Panchayats and local communities in achieving environmental and social objectives.
